This product update contained: Backend enhancements so that the event series process makes better use…
After a successful go-live last week, we had a great response from clubs looking to offer live results at their TT events. Thank you to everyone for your support.
We have been busily collecting feedback from people who signed up and have just implemented the first product update, which contains the items below.
Performance enhancements to the My Events page
The “My Events” page shows events that you created, are managed by you or you are the time keeper for. As a result it has to do a bit of hard query work to only show relevant events and this process was getting slower as more people signed up. We changed the way this worked meaning the page should load nice and quickly now, check it out.
Easier to publish events
The process of publishing an event to make it visible to riders was originally hidden on the “Edit Event” page as a tick box, meaning it was difficult to find. We have now added a new “Publish Event” button to the main event options menu and the “Manage Startsheet” page. The button can be used to toggle an event from “Published” to “Unpublished”.
Miscellaneous bug fixes
We fixed a few other bits and pieces too:
- The start sheet uploading process now removes any blank rows that may have made it into the start sheet as part of the upload process
- The start_time column in the results export is now populated for riders that have been entered manually rather than imported. This was left blank initially
- The ResultSheet event ID has been added to the ResultSheet export file format to help organisers link results in their own spreadsheets
- The result sheet views now order DNF and DNS entries correctly when viewing rider performance on VTTA standards. They will now appear at the bottom of the results
- Age on day is no longer a mandatory field when adding riders manually to start sheets to facilitate events where age isn’t required
- Hotmail email addresses seem to have problems receiving emails from certain sources, meaning users don’t receive the ResultSheet confirmation email to confirm their account. We now ask users signing up to try a different email address
- A few minor UI tweaks
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
